My semester so far
This semester has been exhausting for me. I had to do a lot of homework and projects that always took me so long to complete because they require a lot of time, so I haven't slept as well as I was supposed to. Anyway, this semester is less exhausting than the last one, and less stressful. Right now I'm taking electives, so I picked classes I'm interested in. My favorite one is "Arquitectura, diseño y prefabricación" because I have learned a lot of specific things about materials like dimensions, suppliers, and constructive systems. We also visited a metal factory from Villalba Corporation yesterday. It’s interesting to see the process of how the materials are made. I think of all the electives, this has been one of the most useful for my professional life.
A class that I’m not enjoying is "gestión y producción de arquitectura interior." I like the things that the teachers teach us, but I think they explain things in a really extended way that could be much shorter and more precise. I don't like either the projects because they are too extensive to complete; it’s like a second course in a certain way. I cannot say that I haven't learned, but I think it could be a better experience if they changed the method to something more precise and included more interactive activities.
As I said before, I always have a lot to do, and my procrastination doesn’t help, jajaja. I organize every day what I have to do, but I get distracted easily or something else comes up, so most of the time I'm short on time. That's also because I prioritize other things. I don't want university to be my entire life. I spend time with my sisters playing with them. I’m the oldest sister, and I don’t live with them. They live in Parral, so when I see them, I prioritize them because I don’t want to be absent in their lives. I also spend time with my friends. I try to balance my time between myself, the people I appreciate, and university.
When I'm free, I do a lot of things like painting with watercolors. I like to play the guitar too. sometimes I write songs and record them in my voice notes. I would like to make an album, but I think I need to learn more about making music on the computer, or hire someone (I don’t have money for that now) jajajaja.
The highlight of the semester has been "metodología de investigación." The classes are light, I have learned a lot and I'm interested in the research we are doing. It's about "sitios de memoria," places where people make tributes to those who were tortured or disappeared during the Chilean dictatorship. We are studying how people interact with those places and how people intervene in those spaces.
At least, even if I'm stressed, it’s been a really good semester full of good moments with my friends and family. But I'm hoping to finish quickly because I want vacations, ajajjaj.
Hey! I would love to hear some of your recordings. I can also help you with some tips about making music on the computer free!!!
